Crainn Chiarraí was formed in March 2021, with the aim countywide to: - Foster knowledge and care of all our trees in County Kerry, including our precious existing mature trees and hedgerows, which are part of our history, heritage and connection with our local communities - Engage with Kerry County Council, local and national governmental organisations and local voluntary and community groups to protect existing mature trees and hedgerows and tree planting initiatives. - As a group create networks with Transition Kerry, Kerry Branch of the Irish Wildlife Trust, Local Biodiversity Networks, Tidy Towns Groups, The Irish Beekeepers Association, Botanical Society of Britain and Ireland (BSBI) and other local community groups.
